Experiencing a Drop in Your Search Engine Ranking?

Wondering why there has been a sudden drop in your search engine rankings? Don’t know where to start and get a handle on what the problem might be or how to remedy it. The better you understand the reason why your rankings dropped, the better you can prevent your website from future ranking drops. Following are some of the steps Studio1c takes when evaluating dropped rankings.
Website Changes
It is amazing just how quickly a website’s rankings can drop when you
re-design your web pages or if you optimize a page for new terms. Most search
engines filters will put your web site into the sandbox if you have a new web
site or if you change your web pages.
Is it Dynamic?
Do you have a dynamic website? Failing to make your dynamic site search engine
friendly can noticeably reduce your visibility in the rankings. Even though
some engines spider dynamic URLs, most don’t! Make sure your Dynamic web
site is search engine friendly.
The Links to Your Website Change
The number and the type of web sites that link to your site are very important.
If you want to get high search engine rankings, try to get as many links from
related web sites as possible. It's not only important that many other web sites
link to yours. It's also important that the links are from related sites and
that the link texts contain keywords that are related to the keywords for which
you want to have high search engine rankings. Try to get inbound links that
last. Continually getting links is essential to keep high rankings. If you don't
work on your links then your website will be replaced by better linked web pages
in the search results.
Search Your Site for SPAM
Make sure
that your web site doesn't use keyword stuffing, hidden text, cloaking or redirects.
If you use any of them, search engines might tag your web site as a spam site.
In that case, all other optimization efforts are futile. It’s important
you know what SPAM is and how to identify it, so here is a helpful resources
for you to consider.
Search Engine Algorithm Changes
All search engines, especially Google, perform standard updates to their algorithms
to better the relevancy of search results. Algorithm changes can have a considerable
impact on the positioning of your web pages. Make sure you optimize your web
pages so that they reflect the latest search engine algorithms.
Reliable Server
Make sure your website
is hosted by a reliable server. If your website is down when the search
engine spider tries to access your website then search engines cannot give your
web pages high rankings!
If you have not already done so, I strongly recommend you claim your website on Yahoo Site Explorer, Google, and Microsoft Bing . Each of these resources offer extremely useful pointers (from respective search engine’s viewpoint) for site owners
