With the growing popularity of Twitter in the cyber world, you too can reap the benefits of following people who deserve a mention in some particular niches. Though the use of only 140 character chunks may seem a little self limiting to some, you can still get some useful information or inspiration for your work if you choose to follow the right people.
In case you are a web designer by profession, and want to read a little bit about interesting and creative web designs, as well as occasional funny anecdotes, here are some people you can try to follow (though not necessarily in the same order):
- @zeldman: Jeffrey Zeldman holds the top spot with 68,653 followers. His bio pronounces him to be the web design godfather, and you will surely enjoy an insight into his pioneering web design strategy and some other useful tips by being his follower on Twitter.
- @vpieters: Veerle Pieters is a Belgian graphic and web designer, with her own blog. With 60,098 followers on Twitter, this colorful designer who pronounces on her blog – “Design is my work, my play, my worldview” is worth a mention here.
- @abduzeedo: Fabio Sasso is a dedicated Brazilian graphic/web designer who founded Abduzeedo – a tutorial for graphic design inspiration and Photoshop, has 52,645 followers till date.
- @nicholaspatten: If you looking for lots of give-and-take, Nicholas Patten – a graphic/web designer and video editor with 43,996 followers would be the best bet to keep your eyes glued on.
- @ilovetypography: Johno is a typography fanatic and takes pride to be the founder of ilovetypography.com. His follower count on Twitter reads 36,566.

- @adactio: Jeremy Keith of Brighton, East Sussex is an Irish web developer who lives and works in Brighton, England. With 39,680 followers to boot, he’s a designer worth following.
- @chrisspooner: Chris Spooner is based in Sheffield, UK and is a creative designer who’s crazy about pretty shapes and colors. You can check out his website, which he calls his personal design blog and also his digital playground, where he produces design tutorials and writes about all creative things. Chris has 27,825 followers on Twitter.
- @meyerweb: With 25,829 followers, Eric Meyer tweets about everything starting from (X)HTML and CSS to web standards and microformats. You can also check out his website toread more about what he has to share.
- @imjustcreative: Graham Smith is based in Seaford, East Sussex, England and has got 25 years’ of experience in designing and creating clean and unique logos, identities and rebrands. He has 23, 520 followers on Twitter till date.
